Gold Costiera jewelry arranged on warm terracotta with lemons
Materials

Real 18k gold, built to last.

Every Costiera piece starts with 316L surgical-grade stainless steel — the same hypoallergenic metal used in medical implants. Over it we bond a thick layer of genuine 18k gold. The result looks, feels and wears like solid gold, at a fraction of the price.

The bond

Bonded, not plated.

We use PVD (physical vapor deposition): real gold is vaporized and fused to the steel under high heat and pressure until the bond is molecular. Unlike cheap electroplating, it can't flake, chip or rub off. That's the difference between gold that lasts months and gold that lasts years.

  • Never plated, never filled
  • Won't tarnish, fade or turn skin green
  • Hypoallergenic and nickel-free

Waterproof

Made to live in the water.

Shower in it, swim in it, sweat in it. Salt water, chlorine and soap won't dull the shine. Rinse with fresh water after a long day in the sea or sunscreen and it will look new for years.

Good to know

Materials, answered

Is it real gold?

Yes — a thick layer of genuine 18k gold, bonded to surgical steel by PVD. It isn't solid gold (that's what keeps it affordable), but the surface you see and touch is real 18k gold.

Will it turn my skin green?

No. There's no copper or nickel against your skin and the PVD bond doesn't leach. Costiera is hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.

What about the Notte pieces?

Our Notte evening collection is the exception: those pieces have a silver-tone finish over a base-metal alloy — they are not waterproof gold. They're made for special nights, so keep them dry. Every product page tells you exactly what that piece is made of.

Are the pearls and stones real?

The pearls are natural freshwater pearls and the blue stones are faceted crystal. Pearls are softer than metal, so keep them out of prolonged water — see our Care guide.
